Rhynie Free Church was formed at the Disruption, with a church building erected in 1851. It was reduced to a station in 1867 as a result of rural depopulation. but restored to full status in 1871. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Rhynie South, which united with Rhynie North as Rhynie in 1931. The United Free charge was in the presbytery of Banff and Strathbogie and the synod of Aberdeen. |
