Portobello, Regent Street United Presbyterian Church was formed by church extension in 1878 and took over a former Free Church building. The first minister was ordained in 1879. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, and united with Portobello Old as Portobello Old and Regent Street in 1952. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Edinburgh and the synod of Lothian and Tweeddale. |
