Rathen United Free Church originated at the Disruption, when the minister and most of the congregation of Inverallochy quoad sacra church adhered to the Free Church and were joined by others from adjoining parishes. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Rathen East, which united with Inverallochy as Inverallochy and Rathen East in 1930. The United Free charge was in the presbytery of Deer and the synod of Aberdeen. |
