Kilmuir-Easter United Free Church originated at the Disruption, when the minister and congregation adhered to the Free Church. A church and manse were erected soon afterwards, the church being replaced in 1876. It passed to the United Free Church, but church and manse were allocated to the Free Church and were replaced in 1908-9, in the case of the church by a corrugated iron building. The Church of Scotland charge, which was in the presbytery of Tain and synod of Ross, Sutherland and Caithness, was Kilmuir-Easter West, which united with Kilmuir-Easter East as Kilmuir-Easter in 1940. |
