Airdrie High Free Church originated at the Disruption, when the congregation of a quoad sacra church adhered to the Free Church and was able to retain its church building, which had been erected in 1838. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland. The Church of Scotland charge is in the presbytery of Hamilton and was, until the abolition of synods in 1993, in the synod of Clydesdale. |
