Paisley, Sherwood Free Church was formed by the local presbytery in the Glasgow Road area of the town and sanctioned in 1889. The church was opened in 1891, and passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland. Paisley Sherwood and Paisley Greenlaw united in 1997 as Paisley Sherwood Greenlaw. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Paisley and, until the abolition of synods in 1993, in the synod of Clydesdale. |
