Renfrew Free Church was formed at the Disruption, when the minister and many of the congregation adhered to the Free Church. A church was built in 1843 (replaced on the same site, 1882). It passed successively to the United Free Church, as Renfrew North, and to the Church of Scotland. The Church of Scotland charge is in the presbytery of Greenock and Paisley (formerly Greenock) and was, until the abolition of synods in 1993, in the synod of Clydesdale. |
