Kirn United Presbyterian Church was established as a preaching station by the presbytery of Paisley and Greenock in 1858. The church was opened in the following year and the first minister ordained in 1864. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Kirn St Margaret's. In 1970 St Margaret's united with the congregation of Kirn St Andrew's, taking then name Kirn Church of Scotland. tThe United Free Church and Church of Scotland charges were both in the presbytery of Dunoon and the synod of Argyll. |
