Dumbarton High United Free Church originated at the Disruption, when the minister of Dumbarton and a considerable part of his congregation adhered to the Free Church. A church and manse were built in 1843, and a replacement church on another site in 1864. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland. Dumbarton High united with Dumbarton North and Dumbarton Old as Dumbarton Riverside in 1972. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Dumbarton and the synod of Clydesdale. |
