Rutherford Church, Glasgow, began as a Free Church mission in Dennistoun in 1859. The church building, in Armadale Street near Duke Street, was dedicated in 1874. Initially Dennistoun Free Church, the congregation became Rutherford United Free Church, joined the Church of Scotland in 1929 and terminated in 1975 on uniting with two other churches as Dennistoun Central. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
