Strathfillan Free Church originated at the Disruption, when the minister of the quoad sacra church adhered to the Free Church. New churches were built east of Tyndrum and at Bridge of Orchy. Originally the congergation was in the presbytery of Breadalbane, but in 1896 it transferred to Lorn. It passed to the United Free Church as Strathfillan and Crianlarich, which was in the presbytery of Lorn and synod of Argyll. Crianlarich was separated in 1901, but reunited with Strathfillan in 1911. It passed to the Church of Scotland as Strathfillan West, which united with Strathfillan as Strathfillan in 1930. |
