Kelso North Free Church originated at the Disruption, when the minister and congregation adhered to the Free Church. They managed to retain the church until 1864, when it was claimed by the Church of Scotland, and they then built a successor, completed in 1867. The congregation passed to the United Free Church as Kelso North and united with Kelso East in 1906 as Kelso St John's. The United Free charge was in the presbytery of Jedburgh and Kelso and the synod of Merse and Teviotdale. |
