Greenock, Greenbank (Antiburgher) Church was a congregation already in existence by 1748. The first church building dated from 1758 and the first minister was ordained in 1761. It passed successively to the United Presbyterian and United Free Churches, in the latter case as Greenock Greenbank. The Church of Scotland charge, which was in the presbytery of Greenock and synod of Clydesdale, united in 1955 with Greenock St Mark's as Greenock St Mark's Greenbank. |
