Until the Disruption of 1843 there was only one dissenting congregation in Dollar which belonged to the Original Secession of 1733 and which dated back to 1827. The church made slow progress and lost its minister in 1846. Many members of the church united with the Free Church in 1852. Meanwhile a United Presbyterian church in Dollar had began as a mission station. In 1870 a congregation and session was formed and a minister ordained in 1872. After the union with the Free Church in 1900 the congregation became known as Dollar East United Free Church. It united with Dollar West in 1910 to form Dollar United Free Church. |
