Nairn Free Church was in preparation even before the Disruption, with a church ready for worship on the first Sunday after the event and a minister settled before the end of the year. A larger church was erected in 1882. Gaelic services were held regularly until 1895. It passed successively to the United Free Church, as Nairn High, and to the Church of Scotland. The Church of Scotland charge, which was in the presbytery of Inverness and synod of Moray, united with Nairn Rosebank as Nairn St Ninian's in 1974. |
