John Street Church, Glasgow, began with a Relief congregation who built a church in John Street in 1798 (its successor, at the corner of John Street and Cochrane Street, dates from 1859). The congregation was known successively as John Street Relief, United Presbyterian and United Free Church. It was terminated by dissolution in 1972. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
