Melrose Free Church was formed at the Disruption, with a church building which was completed in 1843 (replaced 1852). It passed successively to the United Free Church, as Melrose St Aidan's, and to the Church of Scotland, and united with Melrose Old as Melrose St Cuthbert's in 1946. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Melrose and synod of Merse and Teviotdale. |
