Chalmers Free was formed following mission work in the Scouringburn area conducted by St Peter's, St David's and St John's Free Churches. The project began in 1851. A church was built in Hunter Street and named Chalmers Church. In 1900 the congregation became Chalmers United Free. The congregation was transported to the new Ardler housing estate in 1968 becoming Chalmers-Ardler. |
