Lossiemouth Free Church was formed at the Disruption and sanctioned in 1844, initially as Drainie. The first church, built in 1845, became insecure and was replaced in 1856. This then burned down and was replaced in 1888. The congregation passed to the United Free Church as Lossiemouth High, and to the Church of Scotland. The church was again destroyed by fire in 1932 and rebuilt in 1934. It united with Drainie St Gerardine's in 1960 as Lossiemouth St Gerardine's High. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Elgin and the synod of Moray. |
