Glenkens Free Church was formed at the Disruption from adherents in the parishes of Dalry, Kells and Balmaclellan. A new church was built east of Dalry in 1845. It passed to the United Free Church as Dalry Glenkens, which united with Dalry St John's in 1907 as Dalry United Free. This in turn passed to the Church of Scotland as Dalry St John's, which united with Dalry in 1949 as Dalry. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Kirkcudbright and the synod of Dumfries. |
