Arisaig and Small Isles United Free Church originated with a Free Church, which was formed in 1844. Services were held, but with a charge which was not sanctioned until 1890. It passed to the United Free Church, with a new church built at Mallaig in 1912, and united with the Small Isles station in 1913 as Arisaig and Small Isles. At the union of 1929 this became a Church of Scotland charge, but in 1931 it united with Mallaig St Columba's, a former mission station, as Mallaig. The United Free charge was in the presbytery of Abertarff and the synod of Argyll. |
