Springburn North Church, Glasgow, originated as a Free Church in the 1880s. A minister was appointed in 1888 and a church was built two year later in Springburn Road at Elmvale Street. It was known successively as Springburn Free Church (or Springburn Eastfield) and Springburn North United Free Church. The church was destroyed by fire in 1967 and the congregation terminated on merging with Springburn Hill as Springburn North Hill. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
