Edinburgh, Lady Glenorchy's Free Church began at the Disruption, when the minister and congregation of an existing church adhered to the Free Church. A new church building was erected in 1846. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Lady Glenorchy's North, which united in 1956 with Barony and St James's Place as Edinburgh Hillside. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Edinburgh and the synod of Lothian and Tweeddale. |
