Edinburgh, St Mary's Free Church originated at the Disruption. A church building in Barony Street was replaced by another in Albany Street in 1862. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Edinburgh Barony, which united with St James's Place as Barony and St James's Place in 1933. This in turn united with Lady Glenorchy's North as Edinburgh Hillside in 1956. The Church of Scotland charges were in the presbytery of Edinburgh and the synod of Lothian and Tweeddale. |
