Madderty Free Church was sanctioned in 1844, with a church and manse built in the following year. It passed to the United Free Church and united with Kinkell in 1915 as Kinkell and Madderty, which in turn passed to the Church of Scotland as Madderty High. The Church of Scotland charge, which was in the presbytery of Auchterarder and the synod of Perth and Stirling, united with Madderty Abbey in 1936 as Madderty. |
