Edinburgh, Restalrig Free Church began as a mission under Edinburgh Free Church Presbytery and was sanctioned as a charge in 1890, at first as Parsons Green, but changing its name to Restalrig in 1892, the year the church building was opened. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as New Restalrig. The Church of Scotland charge is in the presbytery of Edinburgh and was in the synod of Lothian and Tweeddale until the abolition of synods in 1993. |
