Perceton and Dreghorn Free Church was formed soon after the Disruption, with a church and manse built at Perceton by February 1844. Both were replaced in the village of Dreghorn in 1877. The congregation passed successively to the United Free Church and to the Church of Scotland. The Church of Scotland charge, which was in the presbytery of Irvine and Kilmarnock and the synod of Ayr, united with Pearston Old as Dreghorn and Springside in 1993.
During demolition operations in the late 20th century for transportation of its building to Japan, items 9-16 were found in its foundations. |
