In 1876 a mission station was opened in the east end of Port Glasgow. In December 1877 residents petitioned Greenock Presbytery to have the mission formed into a congregation. The congregation was formed on 15 January 1878. Initially the congregation worshipped in a public hall but a church was opened in the following September. In 1900 the United Presbyterian Church united with the Free Church and the congregation became Port Glasgow Clune Park United Free Church. A new church was erected in 1906. In 1929 the United Free Church joined the Church of Scotland. In 1972 the charge was united with Port Glasgow Princes Street Church and Port Glasgow Old Church under the name Port Glasgow St Andrew's Church of Scotland. In 1983 the charge was united with Port Glasgow West under the name Port Glasgow St Andrew's Church of Scotland. |
