The congregation of Dalreoch, which belonged to the Antiburgher branch of the Secession church, arose not from ill will but merely from a matter of convenience, the members who first constituted this congregation having been disjoined from the congregations of Kinkell, Methven and Pathstruie Antiburgher churches. Sermon was first attained at Dalreoch on June 8th 1791 and the first minister, Mr James Clarke, was ordained on September 17th 1795. On the 27th May 1872, following the death of the third minister of Dalreoch United Presbyterian, the congregation, which sat within the Presbytery of Perth, was dissolved. |
