Muthill Free Church in the Presbytery of Auchterarder was formed at the Disruption in 1843. The church and manse were quickly built and a new church erected in 1896. The old church building became the village hall. Following the union of the Free Church with the United Presbyterian Church in 1900, the church became Muthill United Free Church. In 1929 the United Free Church joined the Church of Scotland. The church became Muthill St John's Church of Scotland. In 1947 it was united with Muthill Old Church of Scotland to form Muthill Church of Scotland. In 1984 the charge was linked with Trinity Gask and Kinkell. |
