Kilninver and Kilmelfort Free Church, Presbytery of Lorn, was established at the Disruption in 1843, under the charge of the minister of Kilbrandon Free Church. A temporary place of worship was used until 1852. In 1862 a church was erected. In 1900, following the union of the Free Church with the United Presbyterian Church, the church became Kilninver and Kilmelford United Free Church. In 1929 United Free Church joined the Church of Scotland and this congregation agreed to unite with Kilninver and Kilmelford Church of Scotland. The charge retained the Church of Scotland buildings. In 1974 the charge was linked with Craignish. |
