Greenock Martyrs Free Church, originally Reformed Presbyterian Church, joined the Free Church in 1876. The church was erected in 1861. Following the union of the United Presbyterian and the Free Church in 1900, the congregation became Greenock Martyrs United Free Church. In 1924 the charge was united with Greenock North United Free as Greenock Martyrs and North United Free Church, Presbytery of Greenock. A manse was acquired in 1925 and a site for new halls in 1928. In 1929 the United Free Church joined the Church of Scotland. Greenock Martyrs and North Church of Scotland added a new suite of halls to the church in 1938. In 1983 the charge was united with Greenock St George's as Greenock St George's North Church. |
