Lenzie Union Church, Dunbartonshire, originated in 1856, initially as a United Presbyterian charge but with a strong Free Church element, the name originating in a desire to emphasise the presence of members of both groups. It later became Lenzie Union United Free Church. The building, in Kirkintilloch Road at Moncrieff Avenue, Lenzie, was dedicated in 1875. As a Church of Scotland charge it is in the presbytery of Glasgow and was formerly in the synod of Clydesdale. |
