Cumnock United Presbyterian Church, Ayrshire, originated with a group which applied for supply of sermon to the Associate (Burgher) Presbytery of Glasgow in 1773. The first church was built in 1775, a second in 1831. It later became successively a United Presbyterian and United Free church (as Old Cumnock West). At the union of 1929 it joined the Church of Scotland and in 1949 united with Old Cumnock Crichton Memorial as Old Cumnock Crichton West. As a United Presbyterian charge it was in the presbytery of Kilmarnock and Ayr. |
