St Fergus Free Church. Presbytery of Deer, was formed at the Disruption in 1843. The church was built in 1846 and a manse in 1848-1849. In 1900 the Free Church united with the United Presbyterian Church to form the United Free Church. St Fergus United Free Church was reduced to a mission station of the United Free Presbytery of Deer, in 1920. In 1926 the congregation requested dissolution and was instead initially associated with Longside Church and put under the care of its minister William Love Carmichael, and later dissolved. The church and manse were sold. |
