Stirling St Ninians St George's was originally the Free Church which was formed in 1843. On the union of the Free Church with the United Presbyterians the church became St Ninians North United Free Church. In 1928 the two United Free Church congregations united to become St Ninians United Free Church. On union with the Church of Scotland it became St Ninian's St George's, worshipping in the former St Ninians North United Free church building. A section of the congregation broke away to form the United Free (continuing) Church and disagreement arose over the use of the former St Ninians South United Free Church building. St George's closed and the congregation dissolved in 1968 and the building was demolished in the mid 1970s. |
