The Congregation of Cobbinshaw United Presbyterian originally existed as a mission station within the Presbytery of Lanark, under the charge of the Rev Hugh Young, however at the union of the Free Church and the United Presbyterians in 1900 it became the Cobbinshaw United Free Church within the Presbytery of Edinburgh. In 1938, a number of years after the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church in 1929, the congregation of Cobbinshaw (then Church of Scotland) was dissolved. |
