The congregation of Baldernock Free Church, which sat within the Presbytery of Dumbarton, was established in 1843 at the time of the Disruption when John Pollock, minister of the Parish Church of Baldernock, adhered to the Free Church. Church and manse were erected in close proximity to the parish church and in 1896 a new church was built. The town of Milngavie was also fell under the jurisdiction of Baldernock Free Church and following the union of the United Presbyterian Church and the Free Church of Scotland, Baldernock Free church was renamed Milngavie and Baldernock United Free Church. Upon the 1929 union between the United Free Church of Scotland and the Church of Scotland, Milngavie and Baldernock United Free Church became Milngavie St Luke's Church of Scotland. The congregation of Milngavie St Luke's Church of Scotland sits under the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Dumbarton. |
