The congregation of Inverurie Free Church, which sat within the Presbytery of Garioch, was established in 1843, the year of the Disruption, and the first meeting of the congregation took place in June of that year in the Congregational Church. Church and manse were soon erected, both of which were subsequently replaced in later years. Following the union of the United Presbyterian Church and the Free Church of Scotland in 1900, Inverurie Free Church became Inverurie United Free Church and upon the 1929 union between the United Free Church of Scotland and the Church of Scotland, Inverurie United Free Church was renamed Inverurie West Church of Scotland. The congregation of Inverurie West Church of Scotland sits under the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Gordon. |
