The congregation of Aberdeen Ferryhill Free Church was started by the Free Presbytery of Aberdeen as a Church Extension Charge in 1872 and the congregation was sanctioned in 1874, the year in which the church was erected. Following the union of the United Presbyterian Church and the United Free Church of Scotland in 1900, Aberdeen Ferryhill Free Church became Aberdeen Ferryhill United Free Church and upon the 1929 union between the United Free Church of Scotland and the Church of Scotland, the congregation was renamed Aberdeen Ferryhill South Church of Scotland. In 1990 a union was established between the congregation of Aberdeen Ferryhill South and Aberdeen Ferryhill North to form the session of Aberdeen Ferryhill Church of Scotland and the united congregation sits under the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Aberdeen. |
