In 1860, in order to meet the needs of a growing population, a Free Church station was established in Helensburgh and in 1861 the charge was sanctioned under the name of Park Free Church. The new church was opened in 1861. Following the union of the United Presbyterian Church and the Free Church of Scotland in 1900, Helensburgh Park Free Church became Helensburgh Park United Free Church and upon the 1929 union between the United Free Church of Scotland and the Church of Scotland, Helensburgh Park United Free became Helensburgh Park Church of Scotland. The congregation of Helensburgh Park Church of Scotland is under the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Dumbarton. |
