The Kirk Session of Galashiels St John?s was originally established as a Free Church in 1843. With the union of the Free Church and the United Presbyterian Church in 1900, Galashiels St John?s became part of the Presbytery of Galashiels within the United Free Church. In 1929, it became part of the Presbytery of Melrose within the Church of Scotland, and in 1976, part of the Presbytery of Melrose and Peebles. |
