Kirkoswald John Knox Church, Ayrshire, originated as Kirkoswald Free Church. The congregation was recognised as a preaching station in 1845, a church was built in 1849 and the separate charge was sanctioned in 1860. It transferred successively to the United Free church, and briefly to the Church of Scotland in 1929 (as Kirkoswald John Knox). In 1931 it united with Kirkoswald St Oswald?s as Kirkoswald. The church was converted into a church hall. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery and synod of Ayr. |
