Carlops was originally established as a Free Church congregation in 1843, becoming part of the Presbytery of Dalkeith within the United Free Church in 1900. It remained part of the Presbytery of Dalkeith following the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church of Scotland in 1929. By 1965, however, it formed part of the Presbytery of Peebles and was linked with West Linton St Andrew?s. In 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Melrose and Peebles. |
