Kirkintilloch St David?s Memorial Church, Dunbartonshire, originated at the Disruption of 1843 when the minister and congregation of a chapel of ease dedicated to St David left to join the Free Church. In 1900 when the Free Church united with the United Presbyterian Church, the congregation became Kirkintilloch St David's United Free Church. A large hall was built in 1911, and later in 1926 the old church was demolished and a new building erected. In 1929 the United Free Church passed back to the Established Church, and the congregation was known as Kirkintilloch St David's Memorial Church of Scotland. The congregation united with that of Kirkintilloch Park on 16 May 1991 to form Kirkintilloch St David's Memorial Park Church of Scotland. As a Church of Scotland charge it sat in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
