From about 1869 the Free Gaelic Chapel became known as Albert Square Free. With the Church Unions the congregation became Albert Square United Free in 1900 and Albert Square in 1929. The congregation united with St George's in 1955 under the name of Albert Square and St George's which was changed later to Meadowside
