In 1843, at the time of the disruption, the minister of Auldearn Parish Church, along with the majority of his congregation, adhered to the Free Church and a church to house the newly established congregation of Auldearn Free Church was opened during the same year. In 1900, when the United Presbyterians united with the Free Church, Auldearn Free became Auldearn United Free Church and in 1930, following the 1929 union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church, Auldearn was joined with the congregation of Dalmore, to form the session of Auldearn and Dalmore. Auldearn Free and United Free Kirk Sessions, sat within the Presbytery of Forres and Nairn and later of Inverness. |
