The congregation of Pitcairngreen Free Church, which sat within the Presbytery of Perth, was established in 1843 at the time of the Disruption when the minister and the majority of the congregation of Moneydie Parish Church adhered to the Free Church. They were joined by Free Church adherents from the parishes of Redgorton, Tibbermore and Methven and in the following year a church was erected in Pitcairngreen to house the congregation. A new church was later built in 1893. In 1900, following the union between the Free Church and the United Presbyterians, Pitcairngreen Free Church became Pitcairngreen United Free Church and in 1905 a union was established between Pitcairngreen United Free and Almondbank United Free to form the session of Almondbank St Serf's United Free Church. |
