The congregation of Ardrossan United Presbyterian was established in 1857 and was formed by disjunctions from the parish of Saltcoats. Services commenced within a new church in March 1857 and the congregation was formally organised in May, with two elders being inducted in the following month . The first minister of Ardrossan United Presbyterian, Simon Sommerville, was ordained on the 22nd December of that year. In 1900, at the time of the union between the United Presbyterians and the Free Church, Ardrossan United Presbyterian became Ardrossan Park United Free Church and following the 1929 union with the Church of Scotland, Ardrossan Park United Free became Ardrossan Park Church of Scotland. In 1959 the congregation was transported to a new church, which was subsequently dedicated by Rev T.M. Murchison. Ardrossan Park Kirk Session sits within the Presbytery of Ardrossan. |
