The congregation of Kintore Free Church, which sat within the Presbytery of Garioch, was established in 1843 at the time of the reformation when the minister and around half the members of the parish church of Kintore adhered to the Free Church. Worship initially took place in the Farmers Hall until a church to house the congregation was erected. The first church however had to be built within flood mark of the river and consequently a new building was later erected in 1847 at an alternative site. The former United Free Church was converted for use as a church hall however the building was burned down around the year 1938 and had to be demolished. |
